Key Responsibilities

• Conducting data-driven research and forecasting on federal revenue and spending
• Developing policy proposals and briefing materials for senior staff and fellows
• Providing technical assistance and policy expertise to congressional offices
• Creating public-facing content for newsletters, Substacks, and media outlets
• Collaborating with government affairs teams to advance legislative goals

Essential

• Minimum of three years of professional experience in policy analysis, congressional staffing, or advocacy
• Deep understanding of federal fiscal policy, including tax revenue and mandatory spending
• Familiarity with the specific congressional committees responsible for budget and finance
• Ability to work with high levels of autonomy and personal initiative
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, rapid-response environment
• Willingness to engage in public discourse and challenge conventional wisdom

Preferred

• Experience serving as an on-the-record source for media outlets
• Direct experience working with dynamic principals or high-level executives
• Proven track record of contributing to legislative drafting and introduction
