Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily administration and quality of nursing services for a 150-bed facility
- Manage the full employee lifecycle including hiring, orientation, and performance evaluations
- Supervise and mentor RPNs, PSWs, and non-medical Home Support Staff
- Ensure strict adherence to the Ontario Fixing the Long-Term Care Act
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary committees to improve resident-centered care
Essential
- Registered Nurse (RN) designation
- Current unrestricted certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience within a unionized workplace
- Comprehensive understanding of the Ontario Fixing the Long-Term Care Act, 2021
- Ability to exercise independent judgment regarding sensitive or confidential matters
- Willingness to work in a municipal, accredited long-term care setting
Preferred
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a healthcare environment
- Specialized knowledge in gerontology and long-term care practices
- Experience with emotion-based care models like the Butterfly Approach
