Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily administration and quality of nursing services for a 150-bed facility
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle including hiring, orientation, and performance evaluations
  • Supervise and mentor RPNs, PSWs, and non-medical Home Support Staff
  • Ensure strict adherence to the Ontario Fixing the Long-Term Care Act
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary committees to improve resident-centered care

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (RN) designation
  • Current unrestricted certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience within a unionized workplace
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Ontario Fixing the Long-Term Care Act, 2021
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment regarding sensitive or confidential matters
  • Willingness to work in a municipal, accredited long-term care setting

Preferred

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a healthcare environment
  • Specialized knowledge in gerontology and long-term care practices
  • Experience with emotion-based care models like the Butterfly Approach
