Key Responsibilities
- Directly oversee and critique the work of multimedia journalists and photojournalists
- Evaluate and approve weekly story pitches based on community relevance and impact
- Provide editorial guidance during the shooting, writing, and editing phases of production
- Ensure all content aligns with the network’s standards for accuracy and high-quality journalism
- Collaborate with newsroom leadership to manage daily newscast flows and digital updates
Essential
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in news production or editorial roles
- At least 5 years of experience in a management or leadership capacity
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Management, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Flexibility to work various shifts and adapt to schedule changes as news events dictate
- Willingness to travel locally to engage with the community and discover stories
Preferred
- Ability to occasionally lift equipment weighing up to five pounds
- Advanced understanding of multi-platform content distribution
