Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate privacy risks for new digital initiatives and design appropriate compliance controls
  • Lead the legal response for cybersecurity and information security incidents
  • Provide specialized legal guidance on the adoption and ethical use of AI and biometrics
  • Draft and implement global privacy policies in collaboration with the Law Department
  • Monitor and operationalize compliance with evolving global laws like CCPA/CPRA and NIS2
  • Serve as a key member of technology-related committees and internal working groups

Essential

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in New York State or eligible for New York in-house counsel registration
  • Minimum of 12 years of legal experience, including significant law firm tenure
  • Deep expertise in US and international privacy, cybersecurity, and AI legislation
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks such as NIST
  • Ability to work on-site 4 days a week in Sleepy Hollow, NY or Cambridge, MA

Preferred

  • Prior legal experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors
  • Hands-on experience with privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs)
  • Experience managing complex incident response processes
