Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the foundational data models and analytics architecture
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and memorialize core company KPIs
- Integrate AI coding assistants into the development lifecycle to optimize data workflows
- Ensure all data products meet production-grade engineering standards and documentation
- Provide actionable insights that influence product and business strategy
Essential
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in analytics or analytics engineering
- Advanced proficiency with dbt, including project architecture, testing, and documentation
- Proven track record of implementing and scaling Business Intelligence platforms
- Deep expertise in SQL and Python for data manipulation and automation
- Experience working within a startup or high-growth corporate environment
- Strong background in software engineering best practices such as Git, CI/CD, and code reviews
- Must be based in the United States or Canada
Preferred
- Experience as the first data hire in a previous organization
- Familiarity with BI-as-code platforms or Lightdash specifically
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code
- Active contributor to open-source projects (GitHub PRs/Issues)
