Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily administrative and operational functions of the city
  • Appoint, manage, and evaluate city officers and municipal employees
  • Draft and present the annual operating and capital improvement budgets by December 15th
  • Serve as the primary purchasing agent and signatory for city contracts and bonds
  • Advise the City Council on financial health and future infrastructure needs
  • Represent the village in negotiations with private, non-profit, and governmental entities

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Law, or Urban Studies
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a municipal department head-level management role
  • Proven ability to manage and supervise staff within an organized labor environment
  • Demonstrated experience in fiscal management and budget preparation
  • Exceptional personal integrity and ethical standards
  • Ability to interpret and execute complex legal and financial documents

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) or Business Administration (MBA)
  • Five or more years of experience as a Chief Administrative Officer in the public sector
  • Deep familiarity with the geography and regional dynamics of Northeast Ohio
  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes
