Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily administrative and operational functions of the city
- Appoint, manage, and evaluate city officers and municipal employees
- Draft and present the annual operating and capital improvement budgets by December 15th
- Serve as the primary purchasing agent and signatory for city contracts and bonds
- Advise the City Council on financial health and future infrastructure needs
- Represent the village in negotiations with private, non-profit, and governmental entities
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Law, or Urban Studies
- Minimum of three years of experience in a municipal department head-level management role
- Proven ability to manage and supervise staff within an organized labor environment
- Demonstrated experience in fiscal management and budget preparation
- Exceptional personal integrity and ethical standards
- Ability to interpret and execute complex legal and financial documents
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) or Business Administration (MBA)
- Five or more years of experience as a Chief Administrative Officer in the public sector
- Deep familiarity with the geography and regional dynamics of Northeast Ohio
- Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes
