Key Responsibilities
- Define and uphold technical standards and engineering excellence for the v0 product
- Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of engineers
- Manage delivery timelines and mitigate technical debt while maintaining high velocity
- Collaborate with Product and Design directors to align on roadmap priorities
- Evaluate and implement architectural decisions regarding model integration and infrastructure
Essential
- Minimum of 10 years in software engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in people management or managing other engineering managers
- Proven history of scaling engineering organizations to 15+ members
- Experience delivering AI/ML products, developer-centric tools, or high-traffic consumer apps
- Deep technical proficiency in system design and infrastructure tradeoffs
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and make decisive choices with limited data
- Exceptional communication skills for cross-functional stakeholder management
Preferred
- Direct experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) or generative AI technologies
- Background in machine learning infrastructure
- Expertise in frontend frameworks and design system architecture
- Previous leadership roles within high-growth startups
- Familiarity with the React and Next.js ecosystem
