Key Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor senior staff within the Policy, Advocacy, and Research (PAR) department
- Align advocacy efforts with the organization’s theory of change and strategic goals
- Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships with the Mayor’s office and state executive offices
- Oversee the development of independent research and legislative analysis
- Coordinate with external lobbying firms and consultants to achieve targeted advocacy outcomes
Essential
- Proven ability to translate complex socioeconomic concepts into actionable policy solutions
- Experience leading and supervising high-impact professional teams
- Demonstrated success in building consensus among diverse stakeholders
- Ability to define and execute city, state, and national policy strategies
- Experience managing relationships with government officials and legislative staff
Preferred
- Existing network within the New York City Council and State Legislature
- Experience working within the human services or non-profit sector
- Familiarity with New York City and State budget and funding cycles
