Key Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate hardware purchase, supply chain, and joint development agreements.
- Provide real-time legal guidance to engineering, product, and finance teams.
- Advise on product liability, regulatory issues, and IP strategy during negotiations.
- Develop and refine legal templates and internal approval processes to increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with public policy and safety teams to align commercial goals with regulatory standards.
Essential
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active membership in at least one state bar
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts
- Ability to summarize and communicate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
- Experience with hardware purchase and development agreements
Preferred
- Experience working within the technology or automotive sectors
- Background in supply chain, sourcing, or inbound services legal support
- Familiarity with intellectual property (IP) protection and joint development collaborations
- Proven track record of process improvement within a legal department
