Midweight Designer

Koto · London, England, United Kingdom · Posted 23 April 2026

The role

Overview

As a Midweight Designer at Koto, you will be at the heart of the creative process, transforming abstract concepts into vivid brand identities. Your daily life will involve a deep dive into the craft of design—experimenting with typography, color theory, and art direction to build cohesive visual systems. This is a role for a practitioner who is restless for the next great idea and possesses the technical discipline to execute it across multiple touchpoints. You will move beyond just 'making things look good' to understanding the strategic 'why' behind every brand decision, collaborating closely with senior leads while mentoring junior talent to foster a high-performance studio culture. Joining Koto means immersing yourself in a world-class creative environment that partners with disruptive founders and global icons. The studio culture is built on mutual respect, high standards, and a shared passion for branding that defines the future. You aren't just a cog in a machine here; you are an owner of your projects, expected to articulate your vision during client presentations and contribute to the immersion phases that set the foundation for every project. The team is tight-knit and highly collaborative, offering a hybrid work model that balances the energy of the London studio with the flexibility of modern professional life. This position is a significant stepping stone for a designer looking to accelerate their career. Koto provides a clear trajectory for growth, backed by structured mentorship and access to global opportunities across their international studios. You will have the chance to travel for client work—from San Francisco to Stuttgart—and engage in continuous learning through funded training programs. For a designer who is ready to take more ownership and refine their presentation skills, this role offers the perfect platform to transition from a pure practitioner to a strategic creative leader.
