Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Chief Administrative Officer for all city departments
  • Direct the operations and strategic planning for Ketchikan Public Utilities
  • Manage municipal finances, including budgeting for enterprise and general funds
  • Oversee seaport and cruise-ship facility operations to support the local economy
  • Advise the Mayor and City Council on policy and community development

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 7 to 10 years of progressively responsible local government management experience
  • Minimum of 4 years in a senior executive or administrative leadership role
  • Proven track record in financial management and budgeting for diverse work programs
  • Experience in a full-service city or similar complex organization
  • Willingness to reside within the road system of Revillagigedo Island

Preferred

  • Master of Public Administration (MPA)
  • ICMA Credentialed Manager (ICMA-CM) status
  • Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation
  • Direct experience managing revenue-supported utility operations
  • Background in enterprise-funded services, particularly seaports or cruise ship facilities
