The role

Overview

As a Direct Entry Captain with BA Euroflyer, you will take command of short-haul operations out of London Gatwick, serving a diverse network of destinations across Europe and North Africa. This role is designed for experienced aviators who value operational excellence and the prestige of the British Airways brand but seek a more balanced lifestyle. Your daily responsibilities involve leading flight crews, ensuring the highest safety standards, and delivering the premium service levels that passengers expect from the BA group. Unlike many long-haul or traditional short-haul roles, this position is built around a fixed-pattern roster that ensures you return to your home base every evening, providing a rare level of predictability in a commercial aviation career. You will be joining a dynamic and expanding subsidiary that combines the pioneering spirit of a century-old airline with the agility of a modern short-haul operation. The culture at Euroflyer is close-knit and collaborative, focusing on a community feel where every pilot is a key stakeholder in the base's success. This is an environment where your leadership in the cockpit is matched by a supportive management structure on the ground. Beyond the immediate flying duties, you are integrated into the broader British Airways ecosystem, meaning you are part of a legacy that prioritizes professional development and long-term career stability. The growth opportunities within this role are significant. By joining the British Airways master seniority list, you secure a pathway to future transitions within the wider group, potentially moving into different aircraft types or long-haul operations as your career progresses. The airline provides a fully funded type rating with no associated bond, demonstrating a significant investment in your professional transition. For a seasoned pilot, this is a chance to maintain a high-level flying career while reclaiming personal time through innovative bidding systems and a commitment to work-life harmony.
