Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Chief Administrative Officer overseeing all municipal operations and staff
  • Implement and enforce state laws and local ordinances as directed by the Home Rule Charter
  • Advise the Mayor and City Council on policy, fiscal health, and strategic planning
  • Manage the city's expansion, focusing on infrastructure, residential, and commercial development
  • Ensure transparent communication and accountability between the city government and its residents

Essential

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in municipal government
  • At least three years of experience in a high-level leadership capacity (Department Director, Assistant City Manager, or City Manager)
  • Proven track record in growth management and infrastructure oversight
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and operational discipline
  • Willingness to establish residency within the City of Farmersville within one year of hire

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) or Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience serving in communities with populations between 20,000 and 100,000
  • ICMA Credentialed Manager status
  • Texas Certified Public Manager (CPM) certification
  • Extensive experience in long-term capital planning and strategic development
