Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary legal officer for CATF and CATF Action
  • Advise the Board and Executive Team on governance and ethical matters
  • Manage organizational risk and ensure global regulatory compliance
  • Oversee complex contract cycles, NDAs, and MOUs with global partners
  • Provide legal guidance on intellectual property, data privacy, and labor relations

Essential

  • Deep expertise in U.S. tax-exempt organization law (501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) regulations)
  • Comprehensive understanding of PAC regulations and lobbying compliance
  • Experience with fundraising and grantmaking legal considerations
  • Proven ability to negotiate and review complex domestic and international contracts
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory compliance
  • Experience advising executive leadership and Boards of Directors

Preferred

  • Experience with international nonprofit operations and non-U.S. legal requirements
  • Background in intellectual property and licensing
  • Familiarity with data privacy and cybersecurity law
  • Experience supporting HR on labor issues and workplace policy
