Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary legal officer for CATF and CATF Action
- Advise the Board and Executive Team on governance and ethical matters
- Manage organizational risk and ensure global regulatory compliance
- Oversee complex contract cycles, NDAs, and MOUs with global partners
- Provide legal guidance on intellectual property, data privacy, and labor relations
Essential
- Deep expertise in U.S. tax-exempt organization law (501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) regulations)
- Comprehensive understanding of PAC regulations and lobbying compliance
- Experience with fundraising and grantmaking legal considerations
- Proven ability to negotiate and review complex domestic and international contracts
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory compliance
- Experience advising executive leadership and Boards of Directors
Preferred
- Experience with international nonprofit operations and non-U.S. legal requirements
- Background in intellectual property and licensing
- Familiarity with data privacy and cybersecurity law
- Experience supporting HR on labor issues and workplace policy
